What Ora collects, why, who else handles it, and how to delete it.

Your account

You need an account to use Ora. You can sign in with email and password, Google, or Apple. We store your email, how you sign in, your username, your display name and the avatar you pick from Ora's built-in set. Ora doesn't let you upload photos. Ora's owner can see account emails and sign-up dates to run the service.

Your training

Your workouts, programs, sets, check-ins, notes, Orbi chats, and the age, height and weight you enter are stored on your phone, and Ora works offline.

Cloud backup is optional and off by default. If you turn it on (Settings, Account & Profile, Cloud Backup), a copy of that data, including your Orbi chats, is stored in Ora's database on Google Firebase so you can restore it. Steps and health data are not backed up.

Orbi, the AI coach

Orbi is off until you agree to turn it on, and you can turn it off again. When you message Orbi, Ora's servers send Anthropic, which runs the Claude AI model, what Orbi needs to answer:

• your message and recent chat
• a training profile built on your phone: your goals, experience, schedule and any injuries or limits you entered
• summaries of your recent training and recovery check-ins

Ora's servers keep only usage counts, not your messages or Orbi's replies, and your data is not used to train AI models. To answer research questions, Orbi can search a short list of trusted research and training sites. Orbi gives training guidance, not medical advice.

Friends and groups

Ora is built for training with friends. Every signed-in member can see your username, display name, avatar, level, title and anything you add to your profile card, and can find you by username. Your email is never shown.

• Friends and private groups see your gym check-ins ("training now"), which end after 3 hours and never include your location.
• Weekly ranks show friends and groups your name, avatar, level, title and weekly XP, never your workouts or health data.
• Cheers and nudges send your friends a notification.
• Posts to groups about finished workouts or step goals are off until you turn them on.

You can block or report anyone.

Steps, notifications and voice

• Steps: with your permission, Ora reads steps and active calories from Apple Health or Health Connect, and uses your phone's motion sensor for live steps. Ora doesn't write to Apple Health. This data stays on your phone unless you turn on step-goal posts to your groups.
• Notifications: push notifications go through Firebase Cloud Messaging, which stores a device token for your account.
• Voice logging: on Android, speech is recognized on your phone. On iPhone, Ora uses Apple's speech recognition, which may send audio to Apple.

Sharing with a coach

You can choose to share your training with a human coach by entering their invite code. They see a training summary only: sessions, sets, volume, trends and recent workouts with exercises, loads, reps and effort. They never see pain notes, body details, sleep, Orbi chats or your social activity. You can stop sharing at any time, and they lose access right away.

This website

oracoach.app counts its own visits, without cookies or outside analytics. When a page opens, it sends the page, the site that linked you here, any campaign tags in the link, and your browser's language and time zone. When you leave, it sends how long the page was visible and how far down you scrolled.

Ora's server turns your network address and browser into a code that changes every day, so it can count each visitor once per day without storing your address. It keeps only daily totals: views, visitors, the linking sites, and counts of countries (estimated from your time zone), device types, browsers, operating systems and languages. None of it is linked to you or to an Ora account. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, nothing is counted.

The waitlist

If you join the waitlist on oracoach.app, we keep your email, the goal you picked and the page you signed up on, to invite you to the beta and tell you when Ora launches. Email support@oracoach.app to be removed.

Who handles your data

• Google Firebase: accounts, the cloud database and backup, Ora's servers, push notifications and this website's visit counts
• Anthropic: Orbi's AI model
• Apple and Google: sign-in, and Apple's speech recognition on iPhone
• GitHub Pages: hosts this website

Ora has no ads, no third-party analytics or crash-reporting tools, and never sells your data. Ora Pro will be bought through the App Store or Google Play, so we never see your card details.

Export and delete

Export: Settings, Import & Export saves your Ora data as a file on your phone.

Delete: Settings, Account & Profile, Delete Account. Your data is removed from your phone right away, and from Ora's servers shortly after. Two things remain:

• basic security and moderation records, kept for 90 days
• your past activity in groups, kept for the other members with your name removed

If you signed in with Apple, you can also remove Ora under Sign in with Apple in your Apple account settings. You can also ask us to delete your data by emailing support@oracoach.app from your account email.

Features Ora retired

Earlier versions of Ora had nutrition logging, physique and body photos, injury checks, a movement analysis lab, and Strava, Fitbit and Garmin connections. The current app deletes that data from your phone. Nutrition and physique copies in cloud backup are deleted at your next backup. Anything else left in the cloud, including uploaded photos or videos and connection tokens, is deleted when you delete your account, or sooner if you ask us.

Children

Ora is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has an account, email us and we'll delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update it here and change the date at the top. For big changes, we'll tell you in the app.
